Please Note: In order to work out your Total Hire Costs, please multiply the number of days required for hire (Motorhome Hire Cost + Motorhome Comprehensive Insurance Cost). Then add on any extras such as airport delivery, pets, etc to get the Total Cost of the Hire. Note: please remember that Saturday to Saturday is an 8 day hire period, not 7. There are only seven days in a week, and this does not include two Saturdays, as every single day is a full days hire – see Terms page.

All prices (except motorcycle hire) include the full motorhome hire cost (not hire insurance cost), fresh towels, pillows and pillow cases, all equipment supplied with the vehicle, breakdown insurance and all equipment offered with vehicle as shown for that vehicle on the Vehicles Page. For Motor Cycles the insurance is always included in the cost shown.

Comprehensive motorhome hire insurance is additional and dependent on drivers experience/convictions/recent accident record etc and starts at £20 per day (£140 per week). There are many factors that will effect the insurance cover provided including (but not limited to) drivers age, endorsements or penalties currently applicable on driving license (dependant on Country Imposed), recent (3 year) accident history, number of additional drivers (and their precise driving record), occupation of every driver, and other such factors imposed by the Hire Insurance Company.

Additional drivers (to a maximum of 3) are and additional 25% each (or £5 per day each).

Non-UK Driving License Holders are also subject to a 25% loading (£5 per day for the first driver and £6.25 extra per day for each additional driver who does not have a full UK driving License).

All travel outwith UK is subject to 50% loading (including all of the above) – e.g. instead of £20 per day, this will be £30 per day. This will entitle the driver(s) to have a European Hire Insurance document for the Motorhome when traveling in EEC Countries. For Travel in non-EEC Countries, please contact us for a hire quote.

All drivers must be over 25 and under 71 years of age. For drivers between 21 – 24 years of age, there is a 50% loading to normal charge (of £20 per day). For older drivers, we have to contact our insurance company for a quote, and have found that drivers aged 71-75 years have a similar 50% loading. This is the precise reason why we keep the insurance costs as a separate issue. (There are so many variables, endorsements, accident records) etc, that we keep it separate. Other companies, who use the same hire insurance companies that we do (there are not many in the UK and we have contacted them all), will sort this out later, once you are booked. We are up-front about additional (insurance) charges before we agree contracts.

Hire Days

As we are flexible, in both the start and finish times, every day hired on a motorhome (or motorcycle) will be charged as a full calendar day. Hirers can take delivery from 9am, and return up to 5pm. When we book motorhomes (or bikes), we cannot hire these vehicles out to other hirers and this is why hirers must pay a full days hire costs for both the start and finish dates of their hire period regardless of your start and return times. We have to make the vehicle available for you and cannot hire the vehicle to others on your start and return dates, regardless of an early or late return or delivery. We hope you understand our position.

Weekend hires can only be accommodated when we have gaps during the season, and will not generally be available during the peak season (8 May – 10 September) unless we have availability. Please have a look at our Offers Page for availability both in High Season and at other times, as when we have gaps in our calendars, then we can make these periods available to others (usually at a discounted price).

A security deposit of £500 will be required for all motorhome and motorcycle hires (by cheque or credit card, to cover the insurance indemnity and all other charges and requirements. This will be returned to the customer after the hire if there is no damage to the vehicle and if no penalties have been invoked. Please see next section for alternative.

MOTORHOME INSURANCE EXCESS

The Insurance Excess on all Motorhomes is £500, this means that you, the hirer, will be liable for all damage up to £500 on any accident or insurance claim.

Pets (maximum 2) are allowed in the Autoquest 180 motorhomes at a payment of £30 per pet per hire (due to extended cleaning costs). For any extra costs associated with pets, then that additional charge will be passed on to the hirer including any (pet) damage caused and can be deducted from the security deposit.

Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in any of our motorhomes, and no pets are allowed to travel in the Pegaso. There are penalties applied.

The Terms and Conditions of Hire document will be signed by both the hirer and owner at the start of any hire period, and will constitute the contract of hire between hirer and owner of the motorhome or motorcycle, and is legally obliging and fixed in UK law.

*For all dates starting between 21 December – 5 January (Christmas and New Year Period), please add on 25% to the Motorhome Hire Cost as we do not have enough motorhomes to cover this period in Scotland due to the very high demand. We hope you understand.
